Dean Adams maintains a studio practice in Bozeman, Montana. Adams is also an adjunct faculty member at Montana State University in Bozeman. He received his M.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Iowa. Adams’ architectonic sculptures are informed by churches, mountains and prehistoric Japanese sculpture, and are designed and constructed with the wood kiln in mind. He has been firing and building wood-fired kilns for more than 16 years. He has participated in artist residencies at the Archie Bray Foundation, Banff Centre for the Arts, and Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.
